FUNDING

The Keg Spirit Foundation raises money in a variety of ways including:

Keg Brands
Keg branded sauces, seasonings, dressings and ready-made drinks are sold at grocery and liquor retailers across Canada. A portion of the profits from the sale of these products are donated to The Keg Spirit Foundation.

Fall Promotion
This annual restaurant food promotion is our largest fundraiser with participation from all Kegs across North America. During this promotion time, $2 from the sale of the featured entrees is donated to the Foundation.

The Keg Spirit Foundation Invitational
Attracting some of The Keg's key suppliers and franchisees, this first class event is always sold out and raises in excess of $100,000 for the day.

Restaurant Initiatives

Beyond the large corporate events, individual restaurant locations help raise funds through their own initiatives. These initiatives range from activities around new restaurant openings, to golf tournaments, to general staff events.

In 2006, three Keg employees cycled across Canada to raise money for The Keg Spirit Foundation. The trek became known as the "Cycle for Spirit". Steve Fidler (Vancouver, BC), Adrian Pusiak (Toronto, ON) and Jeremy Cummings (St. John's, NL) departed Victoria on April 24th and finished in St. John's on August 4th. They raised more than $184,000, stopped at 34 Keg locations along the way, and motivated all 7,000 Keg staff members to do something amazing for charity.

CHARITIES SUPPORTED

Since 2001, Big Brothers Big Sisters has been designated as the charity of choice for The Keg Spirit Foundation. BBBS was chosen because of their strong commitment to changing the lives of children. Their focus on the mentoring of youth and their local presence in the many communities we operate in made Big Brothers Big Sisters a natural fit. The Keg Spirit Foundation has contributed more that $500,000 to BBBS and additional grants have been made to more than 200 other local charities. Click here for a list of charities supported.

Staff involvement in local communities is recognized through an annual Chairman's Award. Each year, four employees are recognized with a $5,000 donation to their charity of choice. Through this program, The Keg Spirit Foundation has directed more than $120,000 in Canada and $35,000 in the U.S. to staff chosen charities.

To make a donation, please send your contribution, payable to The Keg Spirit Foundation, to the address below. Tax receipts for charitable donations of $10 or more are issued on request.
